Farley Printing Company 14 - Outlaws 21

The Big Angry continued his offense resurgence with a TD run and a TD pass for the third straight game. In addition to moving into a tie for first place in the Hammer Rankings, Angry became only the third played in franchise history to pass 100 career hammer point with 101. He remains a distant third to CComps's 178 points but now only 10 points behind Lil Mitts' 111.

Playing with a patchwork defense, FPC came out strong forcing the Outlaws to turn it over on downs on both of their first two possesions. Cap'n Stupid(sporting a brand new jersey) was able to move the offense effectively early, but the team's red zone struggles continued. The Big Angry broke open the scoring with a half back option in which he outran the rusher for a 25 yard TD run.

The defense, missing 3 starters, finally broke down on an option play giving up a 45 yard TD run on a broken coverage. On offense FPC responded by moving the ball quickly downfield but Cap'n Stupid underthrew The Burns on a deep post route that was intercepted(Editors note: The Burns stands at over 6 feet and the Corner who covered him stood at about 5'8"). The end result of the first half was a defensive battle that ended in a 7-7 tie.

FPC received the ball to start the 2nd half but the drive stalled at 4th and 19 on their own 40. After a Big Angry punt down to the opposing 20 the defense took the field. On the second play from scrimmage, the Outlaws ran the option and a missed flag by Mitts left a 80 sprint to the goal line for an Outlaws receiver who was clearly the fastest player FPC has faced in years. After the Outlaws dropped back into a zone to protect againt the option, Cap'n Stupid went to a spread offense. Boschee sprung one open over the middle for 15 yards. Geo then slipped outside for a game of 20. The drive closed out with 8:16 left in the 4th quarter on what was the play of the year so far. On 3rd and goal from the 15, The Big Angry rolled left on a half back option. With the rusher in his face he threw the ball high into the center of the endzone. It was one of those throws that only your receiver can get to...and that was exactly the case. Feaster went up in triple coverage and came down with the ball and two defenders holding onto him. With sack specialist L Train neutralized by the effectiveness of the Outlaw's option, the defense began gambling in the secondary and it showed. With about 4 minutes remaining in the half the Outlaws rolled option left, but instead threw to a receiver cutting the opposite way. Feaster went for the interception and missed. The Outlaw receiver split the middle and with options for the pitch staying to his right, he froze both the Dutchman and Mitts splitting them both and cruising to the go ahead score(Editor's note #2: It should be noted that after the game the Dutchman was quoted as saying that Lil Mitts got "juked out of his little midget jock strap." Mitts had no comment ).

Down by a TD with under 3 minutes, Cap'n Stupid again abandoned the option for the spread offense. After a few short completions, he finally hit The Big Angry on a beautifully thrown 45 yard TD pass on a deep post. Unfortnately, the play went under review after two flags were thrown. During the play the rusher and Boschee collided after the snap. After some discussion it was ruled that the since the senior referee didn't want to hurt the feelings of the junior referee(who had admitted two weeks previously that he didn't really know all the rules), the penalty would go against FPC and the play would be brought back. Undeterred, FPC moved the ball down to the 3 yard line. With 3rd and goal and on the 6th of 7 plays, Cap'n Stupid went right with the Big Angry on the option. Seeing a hole in the defensive coverage he pulled up and fired a strike towards The Burns in the endzone. Unfortunately, since it was low and behind The Burns, it was intercepted. Game over. Thanks for coming.

It was a difficult loss to take for many of the players, especially Chris Boschizzle, who had to be put into restraints and sedated for the ride home.

FPC plays their only double header of the season next week. The first game pits the team against Run N Gun in a game that could decide the division winner.
