Farley Printing Company 21 - Total Boat Works 6
On "Inside the NFL" this week, Collinsworth asked Marino, Carter and Carter's eyebrows the following question: "If you could take one QB in a game for all the marbles, who would you take: Manning, Brady, McNabb or or The Dutchman?" Carter quickly said Brady, and rightly so -- the guy already won two Super Bowls and he's 12-1 in games decided by three points or less. Marino thinks about it, then takes The Dutchman, and rightly so -- famous QBs who can't win anything when it matters always stick together.
Random thoughts: Could they have made the line high enough with the return of Geo to the lineup and CComps' first appearance? ... Feaster springing for 100 yards and a TD every week with The Dutchman as his QB is like Denzel winning an Oscar for Training Day with Breckin Meyer in Ethan Hawke's role.
But back to the game. Farley Printing won its second straight game in its second straight unspectacular fashion. The Dutchman led the way with three TD passes two of which went to high school buddy Johnny Meatballs who was playing WR for the first time this season. Watching the FPC receivers stand around as Meatballs caught TD passes was like watching the Big Angry stare at the buffet table as they take his fork away and rope it off.
FPC opened the game on D and held. JoKer would rack up 3 sacks in the game in the suprise start at rusher. On offense the return of CComps didn't quite match the hype as his first pass on an option ended up being intercepted. However, once again the FPC defense was too strong(it could also be argued that Total Boat Work's offense was horrendous...but who's counting). TD passes to Meatballs and Leeland MacElroy had FPC up 14-0 at the half.
After some confusion on an 4th and 11 play the Big Angry snapped the ball into Feaster's legs and turned it over on downs. With the short field, TBW was able to punch it into the endzone for their first score. However the missed extra point kept it to 14-6.
On the next drive Geo proclaimed that he would get the interception and "take it to the house." He almost did just that. Jumping the corner he picked off a pass and ran it back to the oppenents 20 yard line. He was later seen on the sidelines proclaiming that he was able to pick off the ball because he had a new pair of "GetSomeWhere shoes." Geo said that sometimes he just needs to pick balls off and run because his shoes just got to get somewhere. He then added "Sometimes...I can't stand myself!"
On the following drive, The Big Angry responded angrily to the "We want Delli!" cheers from the sidelines and fired a 2nd and 4 snap over the Dutchman's head to leave the team at 3rd and 24 from the 44. But The Dutchman again found Johnny Meatballs - this time deep in the endzone for his third TD pass of the day. that brought the score to 21-6. After the game Meatballs was quoted as saying, "People say Randy Moss is Mr. Clutch - best think about that again. Time for some recognition!"
Next up, undefeated FPC takes on Bath & Kitchen for the division lead.
