Farley Printing Company 17 - Wolfpack 14

As usual defense ruled the day. FPC was able to stop the Wolfpack on their opening drive, but after Feaster dropped a pass over the middle on 3rd and long, FPC would turn the ball back over on downs.

Again the defense was backed up but held the Wolfpack on downs around the FPC 40. The Dutchman took it from there leading FPC 35 yards to the Wolfpack 25 in just under 4 minutes. After going deep a few times John Meatballs suggested an underneath route to Feaster which worked perfectly when the MLB got caught attempting the interception. Feaster turned the corner and FPC went up 7-0 to end the half.

At 2nd and 10 from their own 35, the Big Angry got a little excited. After snapping flawlessly in the first half, he fired one over the Dutchman's head that even Mitts couldn't get - and Mitts was lined up behind the QB. Granted Mitts is almost a midget, but it was long snap. After a failed 3rd and 28 attempt. FPC punted.

The Wolfpack went into a no huddle offense and marched down the field with relative ease as FPC was never able to get its zone in the proper formation. Wolfpack 7, FPC 7.

On the ensuing drive FPC began to struggle. On 2nd and 20, the Dutchman fired a Doug Pederson-esque ball down the middle which was promptly picked off. The Wolfpack again drove down to score to take the lead 14-7 and end the 3rd quarter.

FPC then began one of it's classic clock killing drives. Dutchman scrambles for 4. Mitts on the swing pass for 3. Big Angry over the middle for 7. MPJIII on the out for 8. Dutchman scrambled again for 7. At the Wolfpack 30, MPJIII was mismatched with a tall goofy looking guy with goggles. MPJIII beat him deep and picked up a pass interference call to move the ball to the 10 yard line. From there the Dutchman hit Feaster over the middle to move the ball to the 1. This is good for most teams...but not for one that hasn't scored a TD from inside 5 yards in it's last 348 attempts.

After a controversial catch by Feaster on 4th and goal was ruled to be down outside of the endzone, the game appeared to be over. FPC did the only thing it could do: blitz like crazy and try to create a turnover. On 1st and 20 from the one, Leeland MacElroy batted down the pass and nearly intercepted it. One incompletion and one flag later, the Wolfpack was forced to punt from its own endzone with less than a minute to play.

Big Angry took was was a very high punt at the 50. Delaying for just a second as 5 defenders caved in around him, he stepped right and pitched it to Mitts, who to the shock and surprise of everyone in attendance, turned inside and beat the first defender. He then faked a pitch outside and broke loose down the middle. Johnny Meatballs trailed to the outside and Mitts pitched him the ball around the 5 yard line to ensure a safe TD. Mitts then kicked the PAT to tie the game at 14 -14 with just seven plays left.

The Wolfpack did have a chance to win the game with a 35 yard field goal after a highly controversial pass interference call on Johnny Meatballs, but iot was short left. Yes, John did clothesline the poor guy and almost knocked him unconscious...but he did get the ball first and that should count for something.

In overtime the FPC defense held strong and forced a field goal which the Wolfpack missed. FPC then ran a stunningly strong offensive series which resulted in an incomplete pass, a running play where Feaster fell down and then a nice pass to Feaster to the Wolfpack 10. Lil Mitts came in a booted the game winning field goal. That's right.
